Music Ministry

Music at Our Redeemer

Lutheran tradition has long cherished music as a profound way to proclaim the Gospel and glorify God. At Our Redeemer, we embrace this heritage by using congregational singing, choir, handbells, instrumental and vocal soloists, and the majestic sound of the organ to illuminate Christ’s love and grace. Through these gifts, we seek to inspire worship that is vibrant, reverent, and centered on the message of salvation in Jesus Christ.

Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. Whether you wish to comfort the sad, to terrify the happy, to encourage the despairing, to humble the proud, to calm the passionate, or to appease those full of hate, what more effective means than music could you find?

O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.  Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.

The Choir at Our Redeemer performs during Advent/Christmas, Holy Week/Easter times, and occasionally on other given Sundays. Rehearsals are during these seasons, on Sundays after worship. We welcome all ranges of voices — soprano, alto, tenor, and bass — and membership does not require an audition. There are also many opportunities for vocal solos and duets.

Interested singers should speak with our Director of Music, Seth Rosenberger, or contact the church office. Come share the song that the Lord has put into your heart!

Our Redeemer welcomes experienced singers and instrumentalists from high school age through adult to share their gifts in worship. Whether your background is classical, choral, or contemporary, there is a place for you here. Vocalists may participate as soloists or in small ensemble settings, enriching our services with the beauty of the human voice raised in praise. Instrumentalists across a wide range of disciplines are also encouraged to contribute, including brass, woodwind, strings, and percussion.

Our music ministry is supported by two outstanding instruments. The centerpiece of our sanctuary is the Allen G220 digital organ, which provides the rich, full-bodied sound that has anchored Lutheran worship for generations. Complementing the organ is a Yamaha Grand Piano, lending warmth and versatility to both liturgical settings and special musical presentations.

Vocalists and instrumentalists at Our Redeemer serve under the direction of Seth Rosenberger, Director of Music. Seth's depth of knowledge and passion for sacred music make him a wonderful guide for musicians of all backgrounds who wish to offer their talents in service to God and congregation.

Rehearsals are scheduled on an as-needed basis, typically in coordination with the church calendar and upcoming worship services. If you are interested in sharing your musical gifts with our congregation, we would welcome you to reach out and contact the church office.

Our Redeemer’s Hand Bell Choir is open to men and women from high school age through adult and serves as a distinctive and joyful voice in our worship throughout the liturgical year. Under the direction of Keith Jager, the choir performs a range of traditional and liturgical music spanning from accessible unison arrangements to more complex and demanding literature, making it a rewarding experience for ringers at many levels of musical background.

The choir rings on a set of Malmark Classic handbells spanning three octaves (C4–C7) — a set of 37 precision-crafted bronze bells made by Malmark, Inc., one of the world’s foremost handbell manufacturers. Each bell is cast from pure bronze and transformed by skilled craftspeople into a fine musical instrument of beauty and purity of tone. The result is the warm, resonant sound that has made handbells a beloved tradition in church music for generations.

The Hand Bell Choir rehearses on Saturday afternoons, with performance opportunities woven throughout the seasons of the church calendar. If you have an interest in joining this unique and meaningful ministry, we welcome you to reach out and contact the church office.
