Greeter Volunteers Needed

Looking for an easy way to serve your church? Sign up to be a greeter!

We would like to get at least 4 teams of 2 volunteers each so teams would only have to serve once a month.

Greeters are asked to arrive at 8:30 am, pass out bulletins, introduce visitors to Pastor Stinnett, and assist members who worship in the parking lot.

If you are interested in serving as a greeter, please contact Rachel Nichols at missions@orelc.org or call the church office, 232-7575.

Thank you for the food drive donations!

On March 5, the Cumberland Youth Commission, a year-round program for teens interested in community service, loaded up cars with bags and boxes of food donations they collected for the Northern Rhode Island Food Pantry in Cumberland.

Teens collected 30 to 40 grocery bags’ worth of food, not including a dozen boxes of food donations from Dave’s Market, said Jamie Droste, K-12 program coordinator at OCYL. “It surprised the kids how successful it was,” she said. “We just had a real outpouring of support.”

The Northern Rhode Island Food is currently open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month.

Stinnetts in Ethiopia

As many of you know, Pastor Stinnett’s brother, Rev. Eric Stinnett, teaches at Mekane Yesus Seminary in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The seminary is dedicated to training faithful Lutheran pastors and other church workers to serve in Ethiopia.

On August 17th, Eric, his wife Johanna, and children Rachael, Naomi, Luke and Levi lost most of their belongings in a flood.  Their house was totally flooded, with water reaching within a foot of their ceiling. Thankfully, the Stinnetts are safe, but they now face the daunting task of replacing all their belongings.

If you would like to support the Stinnetts financially we will be collecting donations through October 24th.  Please make checks payable to “Our Redeemer” and put “Stinnetts” in the memo line.  Donations can be placed in the regular offering plate. Designate “Stinnetts” in your on-line Vanco one-time special donation.

Thanks in advance for your prayers and support.  If you have any questions, please contact Rachel Nichols at missions@orelc.org or call the church office at 401-232-7575.
