Worship

Lutherans call our worship service, Divine Service. That is, the focus is on God’s service to us in Word and Sacrament, not on our serving God. There are several different services in the Lutheran Service Book (LSB) which are used though out the year. These follow the pattern of the Western Mass that has been used for centuries in the Roman Catholic, Episcopalian and Lutheran Churches. Scripture readings during the service are from the English Standard Version of the Bible. Each Sunday’s service is printed in the weekly bulletin so that everyone can follow the entire service more easily.

The congregation uses a variety of Divine Services that are used in our Churches throughout the Synod. Besides the regular Divine Services used on Sunday mornings, the congregation uses both the Evening Prayer and Vespers orders of service.

Divine Worship Service is on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. Adult Bible Class (ABC), children's Sunday School and Confirmation classes are all held following service beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Other times of worship throughout the year:

  • During Advent and Lent  special services are held in person midweek.
  • During Holy Week, we gather for Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
  • Please see the calendar for specific details.

We hope you are able to join us. Do not hesitate to call the church office at 232-7575 or e-mail us for further information.

Biblical Reference

For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
