NURSERY CARE

If Nursery Care is needed during Service, please talk with a Greeter. They will alert our volunteers that nursery care is being requested.

The room is located past the sitting area of the narthex on the right side.

If you need help locating the nursery, please ask an Usher or Greeter for assistance.

What is A.B.C.?

Adult Bible Class follows Divine Worship at 10:30AM in Martin Hall and is led by Pastor Stinnett or Elder Keith Jager. It is a time for the adults to become more involved in Bible study, conveniently at the same time as children’s Sunday School.

It is so important for us to be studying God’s Word, and ABC is such a wonderful opportunity to do that with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Social Board always has a pot of coffee ready and delicious treats to snack on. Come, grab a cup of coffee, and meet with your friends, or make new ones, as you Grow in Christ too!

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16)

Easter Egg Hunt

We are excited to offer an Easter Egg Hunt for younger children on Easter Sunday (March 31)!

Following the service, a shortened Sunday School class will be offered for the younger children, while the older kids hide the Easter eggs for them—and then the hunt will begin!

No Sunday School, Confirmation Class or Adult Bible Class this day.

Weather permitting, the hunt will take place outdoors. All children are invited! Bring your baskets and smiles for some family fun!

Saturday Women's Bible Study

Looking for some fellowship and time in God's Word? Come join Lori and Kate for a new Women's Bible Study!

This will be a time for fellowship and study with a relaxed pace using CPH's “God's Word for Today” study of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John. Perfect for those who have never done a Bible study before and/or those who don't have time to devote to a weekly study.

We meet on the first two Saturdays each month, March through May (March 2 & 9, April 6 & 13, May 4 & 11). Homework will be light — just read the Bible passages.

Meet at 9:30 am in the ORELC Narthex sitting area with your Bible, and coffee or tea! Join us! Call the church office for more information (232-7575).

You’re Invited! Online Bible Study with District President Beinke.

Thursday evenings 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

ORELC Sunday School Calendar

Sunday School & Confirmation 2023-24

Sunday School is for children from age 3 through High School. Confirmation is for grades 6 thru 8. Our education hour is held after Sunday service until 11:30AM.

Sunday School begins on Rally Sunday, September 10, 2023, with opening ceremony in the sanctuary. Children will then split into their age-appropriate classrooms until 11:30AM. During that time parents are encouraged to join the Adult Bible Class (ABC) for an in-depth study of our faith, to make it a true education hour for all.

Our Christ-centered curriculum covers the Bible in three years, creating a biblical foundation for lifelong learning. This curriculum follows a same-age classroom model, so students are divided into three classes: Pre-K/Kindergarten, Grades 1 - 2, and Grade 3+. As they grow in faith alongside their peers, the children explore the Bible, draw connections to the Small Catechism, and learn the traditions of the Lutheran Church.

Our classes are team-taught by adult volunteers who are passionate about teaching our children the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

The Sunday School year runs from September 2023 through May 2024. Weekly classroom lessons run after Divine Worship service until 11:30AM, with a calendar noting special classes or events.

Please reach out to Katie Vincent, Sunday School Director or Kelsey Day, Christian Education Chair at (christianed@orelc.org) with any inquiries/question. Or call the church office at 232-7575.
